Known for transcending performances by A-List artists worldwide, Director/Choreographer Luther Brown has officially joined the Spittn Image family under the newly launched division, Spittn Image Indie, led by Creative Director/Director Shawnette Heard.

According to Spittn Image Executive/Creative Producer & Founder Melissa Ciampa, “Our love for creating what matters is what sparked my interest when Shawnette brought this idea to me,” she explains. “We are able to really work with new talent and creatives without limitations. Shawnette and Luther have been collaborating on projects together for the past year and it was very organic how this signing came about. Luther is the perfect fit for the Spittn Image team, with his shared sense of working within a ‘family’ environment and alongside supportive creatives who encourage and enhance his vision.”

As one of the most sought-after choreographers of our time, Brown has collaborated with the likes of Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Agnez Mo and French Montana, to name a few. His recent contributions include Gwen Stefani’s “Just A Girl,” Jennifer Lopez’s “All I Need” and Britney Spears’ “Piece Of Me” Las Vegas Residencies. He has also choreographed Janet Jackson’s “Unbreakable” tour and currently has choreography featured on her “State Of The World” tour. He is a featured choreographer on the Emmy Award hit show “So You Think You Can Dance,” and has worked with Latin music artists, such as Maluma, Prince Royce, Wisin Y Yandel and, most recently, with Ozuna for his new music video “BAILA BAILA BAILA”.

Brown first caught the attention of Spittn Image’s Heard when the two teamed up for Brown’s music video projects, from his compilation album “The DownBeat Project” which he hired Heard to produce under the Spittn Image umbrella.

“Luther Brown is a very special talent and I’m excited to see how our work relationship will bloom,” shares Heard. “We are thrilled to have such a powerhouse at Spittn Image Indie and catapulting a wonderful directing career.”

Brown has taken on the music video world with his directorial debuts: Likki Likki (Remix), Daaas It, Ain’t Right and, most recently, “Go” featuring Tony Tzar & Lyons. You can watch them all here:

Brown’s unparalleled love for the arts, coupled with an amazing work ethic, has given him the extraordinary talent to capture the true essence of a vision and create timeless pieces of art. “I am excited to start this new chapter with Spittn Image,” concludes Brown. “Can't wait to take my creativity to another level and grow with the team.”

Spittn Image’s Shawnette Heard Tapped as Creative Director/Choreographer for Quavo’s “Huncho Reality” Launch & Teyana Taylor’s Tribute to Janet Jackson

Spittn Image Creative Director/Director Shawnette Heard has been trailblazing the choreography scene for some time, and continues to make her mark through new collaborations with Quavo and Teyana Taylor. Heard was recently hand-picked by Karleen Roy, CEO of The Vanity Group, to serve as Creative Director and Choreographer for “Huncho Reality,” the release party for hip-hop star Quavo’s debut solo album Quavo Huncho, which peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard 200. “I love the different vignettes I was asked to choreograph and stage,” relates Heard. “I really appreciate the versatility of my training and education in dance when I am asked to pull from various perspectives.”

As one of Janet Jackson’s principal dancers for more than a decade, Heard was also tapped by the talented Teyana Taylor to teach her and her dancers Tina Landon’s choreography for the classic Janet Jackson song “I Get Lonely.” “It was an honor to be asked to teach such an iconic number choreographed by Tina Landon,” shares Heard.

“I learned so much working under [Landon] for so many years. My sole purpose was to make Janet and Tina proud. Teyana is an incredible talent to work with; it made my job easy.” Taylor and her team performed the dance during the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards in tribute to the legend herself.

“Heard was an excellent addition to the team,” shares Karleen Roy. “We could not have pulled off the project without her expertise. Her professionalism and poise precedes her, and we look forward to working with her again!”

“The fulfillment I get from working with passionate creatives is beyond empowering,” concludes Heard. “I had a blast working on both projects that embodied such energy.”

Multi-disciplinary production company Spittn Image and founding EP Melissa Ciampa continue to make their mark in the print and social media campaign realm with alluring, highly-stylized imagery for FX’s “American Horror Story - Apocalypse” & “Always Sunny In Philadelphia – Season 13.”

In their fifth installment with the “American Horror Story” franchise, Spittn Image transcends standards of production to reinforce excellence in photography and design with a unique blend of surrealistic compositions, colors and themes that support the creative evolution of the series itself. The through-line story arc of the show and its ingenious commentary on the political and emotional climate of our world is powerful, and this year there are two impeccable approaches to the vision – Frank Ockenfels captures the creatively haunting images for the Key Art, and Kurt Iswarienko seizes the essence of the story in the cast gallery images.

“’American Horror Story’ is a special kind of horror genre to Spittn Image, a series very dear to us, as we’ve had the incredible opportunity to work on it for the last 5 seasons,” says Spittn Image EP Melissa Ciampa. “There are a lot of hours on-set that support the vision of these creatives, and the end result makes our job exciting and so worth it.”

With “Always Sunny In Philadelphia” and their “Sunny the 13th” campaign theme, Spittn Image grabs attention with innovation in a horror spoof print shoot for one of America’s favorite comedy series. On location, the team was able to bring to life that perfectly eerie quality of the good ‘ole outdoors, captured beautifully with the eye of Photographer Patrick McElhenny and FX Network creatives.

“I love working on location with the FX team. I believe it lends to the authentic components that bring the vision of a still photo shoot to life,” concludes Ciampa.

As a highlighted Dance Educator at the renowned Debbie Reynolds Legacy Studios, Heard was invited to produce the show’s video content in collaboration with Creative Director and Head of the Scholarship Department Erin Marino. The Scholarship Program carries the legacy of one of Hollywood's most legendary stars, Debbie Reynolds, who set a high bar for herself that in turn has been infused into the studio.

“We are fortunate to have Producer and Director, Shawnette Heard, on faculty at our Studio, and it was only natural to put our trust in her and the Spittn Image team to reach those standards with the footage for our stage show,” shares Marino. “We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our dancers and our team. Not only did we capture beautiful imagery, but the day was seamless and enjoyable for everyone involved.”

With rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, Heard and Spittn Image hope that the show’s positive recognition emphasizes the creative forces within as the company looks to expand their “Stage Show” video content department.

Spittn Image is also excited to announce that “The Witching Hour” short film, directed by Shawnette is currently in postproduction, gearing up for the film festival circuit in 2019.
