“PREGUNTAS HERMOSAS”: A SHORT FILM BY SUPERFAD

Superfad’s newest short film “Preguntas Hermosas”

Superfad’s newest short film “Preguntas Hermosas” evokes a time that was shared between two people, told through a combination of "Poema X" by Pablo Neruda and "Under the Harvest Moon" by Carl Sandburg. It unfolds in three parts: a fond remembrance, loss, and acceptance.

Set in a beautiful, dreamlike world, Superfad subtly uses CG to create this dark narrative setting that brings life to the words of the poems. The visual story is told through dynamic compositions, diverse camera angles, and cinematic transitions that convey the somber mood of the piece. The violin and piano driven original score creates a dark lullaby that ties together all of the visual elements of the piece.

“We really wanted to capture something in a traditional, filmic sense,” says Director David Viau. “So often with CG you”re tempted to do crazy, dramatic camera moves and seamless shots that go on forever, but this felt like it needed to be shot in a manor that could be achieved if this surreal world actually existed.”
