JEFF BEDNARZ SHORT DOC “6” INGNITES SXSW

Jeff Bednarz’ short documentary film “6” kicks off a film festival tour with a world premiere at SXSW, one of the premiere festivals in the country. The film is a documentary portrait of small town America as told through the lens of six-man football. It is the grit, determination and passion of players and fans alike that form the heart and soul of communities too small to populate a full man team.

"This story is a lesson in compassion, hard work and how important it is to hang onto our Rural Communities and the American Dream,” comments Bednarz.

Director Jeff Bednarz was introduced to Six-Man by Six Man Super Saturday co-founder Jim Ferguson for whom Bednarz directed a series of spots for the NFL Channel. Inspired by what he and Ferguson perceived to be a vanishing way of life, the duo went to the Texas towns of Strawn and Follet to capture intimate portraits of the town's lifeblood: football. Bednarz' innate ability to connect compassionately with his subjects enabled him to capture honest moments in the lives of these extraordinary, everyday people. Working with over 40 hours of film, Editor Jack Waldrip and Director Bednarz wove together the stories that combine quietly and powerfully in a 20-minute film about rugged individualism, team spirit and community.

INTERspectacular BRINGS BOLD BACK TO BET

BET has a new look thanks to the creative trio: INTERspectacular Creative Directors Luis Blanco & Michael Uman, and long-time collaborator Kendrick Reid, SVP, Executive Creative Director/Brand Strategy for BET.

INTERspectacular gave BET what the boutique branding and design studio has become famous for in the industry – a big-picture, solutions-focused strategy – which returns the network in terms of brand, image and design to its “roots.” Providing its audience with a look that viewers respond to, INTERspectacular created a BET re-design steeped in bright, primary colors; a bolder logo with its signature star filled in, giving it more weight; and original typography with its own name: “Phat Ass.”

INTERspectacular Creative Director Michael Uman states, “We were thrilled to have this opportunity to return BET in terms of its look and design to what the viewers have grown to love it for: powerful entertainment programming.”

TWIST’S RICH MICHELL “LENDS” SIGNATURE LOOK & TALENT TO UNION BANK

Twist Director/DP Rich Michell (very well-known for shooting people, table-top and food) has lent his talent to Union Bank (Lincoln, Nebraska) for a series of new commercials. Shot against a stark, white background and skillfully cast with a charismatic spokesperson, the campaign explains to consumers why Union Bank is the best choice for truly exceptional service in these uncertain times.

“Our goal in the Union Bank Campaign was to educate rather than to sell. So to showcase the performance, we felt it best to keep the visual toolbox simple, graphic, and direct. I believe Brian Boesche, Creative Director at Swanson Russell, said it best, ‘After watching this campaign you feel like you’ve learned something,’” notes Michell.
