OUTSIDE PUTS NEW JAGUAR XK-XKR SPOT INTO HIGH GEAR

Euro RSCG called on the diversely talented team at Outside Editorial to complete editorial, graphics and VFX for "Switches", a spot touting the new Jaguar XK-XKR coupe/convertible. Edited by Outside's multiple AICE Award-winning editor Neil Gust, the Jaguar commercial is now airing nationwide.

The adrenaline-rushed commercial for Jaguar captures the spirit of highway-romance going 0-60 in 4.9 seconds - in a Jaguar XK-XKR. Outside Editorial helped realize the overall feel of the spot by interweaving sleek typography and graphic stimulation inspired by both the XK-XKR's aesthetic and the ambience of the open highway. Highlighting the sheer power and artistry of the XK-XKR's bold body and big engine, the spot is a revved-up testament to the Jaguar slogan, "Dramatic design in motion."

Riot Shapes Busby Berkeley-Inspired Commercial For MGM Grand With Mesmerizing Visual Effects

Supply and Demand tapped the visual effects team at Riot to collaborate on a spot for the MGM Grand with ad agency SKG. Directed by Bruce Dowad, the Busby Berkeley-inspired, 30-second commercial features extensive visual effects by Riot.

"Illusion" immerses viewers in the imagination of a woman vacationing at the MGM Grand. Gazing into her crystal martini glass, she's swept into a mystical world. Adorned in an elaborate showgirl costume, she rides a giant swan through a theatrical setting before diving into the air, which morphs into water. She wades past a magnificent martini olive before the spot shifts back to reality. With the snap of a finger, her charming date puts their table center stage as a procession of dazzling showgirls wearing gold costumes enter a spiraling ramp surrounding them. The spot concludes with a series of spinning-record-dance-floors under the light of golden disco balls, and playing cards falling from the sky like confetti.

NORTHERN LIGHTS' MICHAEL HOERNER CUTS CROSSOVER SPOTS FOR USA NETWORK AND "IN PLAIN SIGHT"

Northern Lights Editor Michael Hoerner teamed up with USA Network for a lighthearted campaign promoting its new dramatic series "In Plain Sight."

In "Welcome," NYPD detective Robert Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" gives USA's newest character, Mary Shannon, (Mary Mc Cormack) a warm welcome to the USA Network neighborhood. When the witness-protection mistress answers the door, a disheveled Goren nervously babbles before handing her a strawberry rhubarb pie, which he aptly identifies after taking a hound-dog whiff. An awkward exchange of words ensues before the detective staggers away, rambling about the 32-hour drive back to New York.

"Big Show" follows a similar theme with wrestler Big Show bestowing Mary Shannon with a folding chair on behalf of the WWE. After a strained silence, Big Show asks if he can use her bathroom to which she promptly responds, "No," before thanking him for the "welcome gift."

MOTION04 PARTNERS WITH CAMPBELL MITHUN ON GORGEOUS AD CAMPAIGN FOR ST. IVES

Broadcast design & animation studio motion504 completed a visually compelling campaign for St. Ives, created by ad agency Campbell Mithun and directed by Stephen Downer of Pony Show. The four :15 and one :30 spots are clean, sleek and simple with St. Ives facial products taking center stage. motion504 took on the role of post supervisor, and handled the type treatment, invisible VFX, rotoscoping and compositing.

motion504 worked closely with Downer to provide post supervision on-set during the four-day shoot. Shooting on the new Phantom Camera at 1000fps proved to be an interesting technical challenge. motion504 created an appropriate tapeless workflow to convert and handle the massive raw files, and to ensure consistency throughout the edit, composite, design, final color and finish.

"We had a great experience with Campbell Mithun," says Andy Reynolds, motion504 Founder. "They were so complimentary of the past work on our reel, and they trusted us to understand the needs of the project. Our relationship with the creatives has been awesome and very rewarding. The campaign worked out so well."
