June 2008SPY POST DELIVERS STUNNING VISUAL EFFECTS FOR LEXUS IS F CINEMA, WEB CAMPAIGN
Spy Post has contributed ambitious design and visual effects artistry to the cinema, broadcast and web components of the Lexus 2008 IS F cinema and web campaign created by global creative and brand-engineering agency ATTIK, and aimed at auto enthusiasts. Having previously collaborated with Spy Post and VFX artist Alaina Goetz on many visually challenging projects for Scion, ATTIK readily turned to Spy Post to handle this campaign's ambitious VFX-related facets. "These spots have an organic quality to them, and the challenge was to have Spy Post add and polish the visual effects without taking away from the big, bold look and feel," said Michele Morris, ATTIK's head of Production. "Alaina's title treatments and VFX definitely accomplish this." SÜPERFAD FINDS ITS OWN SEATTLE WITH NWSOURCE.COM
Süperfad completed a campaign for NWsource.com that presents compelling and iconic city denizens answering the question, "What's my Seattle?" The project is part of an ongoing collaboration with the Seattle Times Company's new media division for which Süperfad has served as both brand design agency and production company. Süperfad began the process with developing a style manual and the voice of NWsource.com via the concept of seeing the city through the eyes of interesting locals. The spots present an animated world that has a hand-drawn aesthetic and ink blot line style - a 2d/3d animation blend that was created with Maya and AfterEffects. At the conclusion the voice's subject is revealed in live action as emerging from the planet of his or her creation. The result is a series of charming vignettes that speak to the range of interesting things to see and do in Seattle's environs, while encouraging viewers to personalize their own Seattle with the help of NWsource.com. BOOM DIRECTOR BRANDON DICKERSON TRAVELS TO NARNIA WITH NEW SWITCHFOOT VIDEO
BOOM director brandon dickerson has once again collaborated with Switchfoot, this time directing the music video for the band's new release "This Is Home," which was written exclusively for Disney's feature "Prince Caspian." After seeing an early cut of "Prince Caspian" dickerson came up with a concept born out of the way the Pevensie siblings get back to the fallen world of Narnia: They enter an underground railway station that mysteriously transports them to this magical land. The idea was to draw a parallel between this, the film experience, and that of the Switchfoot performance in an underground Los Angeles metro station. dickerson, a fan of shooting on film, chose to shoot this video using the RED ONE camera, due to the projects tight turn-around. By working in the 4k realm there was no delay in the editorial process and visual effects could be immediately integrated. According to dickerson, " I was impressed that we were able to create a distinct look with RED[ONE camera] that worked incredibly well with the 35mm footage from "Prince Caspian."
