IT'S NO COMPETITION AUDIOENGINE'S JOE VAGNONI SCORES A WINNING MIX WITH NYC2012

What do audioEngine Mixer Joe Vagnoni, Real Estate King Donald Trump and New York City have in common? They dream big. And they know that big dreams come from attention to the fine details. Quite parallel to creating a colossal skyscraper from beams and posts, audioEngine crafts the finest mix voicing New York's greatest aspiration to become the destination of the 2012 Olympic Games.

In "NYC2012" Donald Trump stands on a construction beam with the New York skyline in the distance, wearing a suit and a hardhat. He tells the audience about the remarkable Liliya Podkopayeva, star gymnast of the 1996 Olympic Games, who did two back handsprings, an aerial walkover, a switch leg split leap, and a full twist with a double back-summersault dismount, all on a plank one-third the width of the beam Donald's standing on without a harness. "The Olympic Games in New York," he concludes. "Now that, I'd like to see."

CHUCK WILLIS HELPS SHOW WHY PELLA IS "VIEWED TO BE THE BEST" WITH NEW SPOT DIRECTED BY KINKA USHER

Cut + Run/NY Editor Chuck Willis recently completed editing a humorous spot via agency Brand Buzz for the new Pella designer line offering windows that are both cordless and have the shades built right into the window. In the spot, a woman shows off her new windows and shades to a friend who admires the engineering, ease of use and no hassle beauty of the new Pella windows. As the women discuss the merits of the windows, the homeowner's husband has a tug of war with the family dog that results in the toppling of the bbq and a fire in the backyard all clearly seen if only the women weren't so distracted by the windows' form and function. As the spots close, and the women wander off chatting all the while, the voiceover says, "The new designer series of windows and doors. Only from Pella. Eventually, you'll look through them."

LOST PLANET'S PATRICK GRIFFIN EDITS 2005 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL SHORTS SELECTION Y NADA MAS

Y NADA MAS, one of 96 short films selected for the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival, was recently edited and produced by Lost Planet's Patrick Griffin. The roster was chosen from a total of 1,700 submissions received this year by the festival.

Y NADA MAS is a cinematic tapestry of four vignettes depicting the Mexican-American man and his place within our society. Writer/Director Justin Liberman threads dialogue and visceral imagery through four simultaneous stories of the Mexican culture. Centered around the human spirit, all four stories are perceived through a prismatic context utilizing simplicity as a metaphor for life's most meaningful moments.

Lost Planet Editor Patrick Griffin applied his expertise in commercials to Y NADA MAS, changing the arrangement of the storylines and providing a more organic flow to the piece. He also notes that many of the actors who appear in the film are former gang members or criminals that were introduced to Liberman through one of the film's lead actors, Emilio Riviera. Riviera and Liberman had previously worked together on the Michael Mann film Collateral. Riviera put the young director in touch with Suspect Entertainment, a talent agency which specializes in hard-to-find ethnic talent and trains ex-cons for Hollywood projects.
