Commissioned by postproduction and editorial company Keyframe Post, FDG created a premium package including live-action footage and design elements. FDG collaborated closely with Keyframe to produce the show's open, transitions, and close. 3D animation for 30 x 30 Kid Flicks was created using 3D Studio Max. 2D animation was completed employing After Effects, and editorial was achieved utilizing Final Cut Pro. Live-action footage was shot on a Sony TRV 900 DV camera. MIXIN PIXLS HITS THE JACKPOT WITH SWEEPSTAKES SPOT FOR LAS VEGASMixin Pixls Henry Artist Mark Dennison recently placed the finishing touches on a hilarious new commercial for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). The spot promotes the Las Vegas Fantasy Sweepstakes being offered by the LVCVA in partnership with search engine Yahoo. "Hell Hole" begins with a man receiving a notice that he has won the sweepstakes. "Now I can kiss this dump good-bye," he announces dramatically, while the camera pulls back to reveal that his "dump," is a grand mansion, the stuff of dreams. Overjoyed, he practically skips through his villa, saying au reviour to the not-so-grand foyer (a giant entrance), his three star chefs, and his so-called flea-bitten mutt (which appears as neatly groomed as a champion purebred.) "Whoever you are," explains the authoritative voice-over, "being a high-roller is better." He then encourages all of us (the non-millionaire viewers) to visit vegas.yahoo.com for more details and a chance to kiss our hellhole good-bye. DNA'S FRANCIS LAWRENCE MAKES A "PLAY" FOR J. LODNA's award-winning Francis Lawrence is universally known as a director that defines the cutting edge. Having recently completed work on Jennifer Lopez's latest clip, "Play," it is clear why his solid reputation continues to grow. "Play" is a distinctively stylized clip that flawlessly captures the essence of this song. Weaving ultra-modern technology, timeless architecture and high-energy dancing, Lawrence creates a world of perfect bliss and makes the entire process look effortless. Lawrence recently directed Aerosmith's "Jaded," Green Day's "Warning," Destiny's Child's "Independent Women Part 1" and The Backstreet Boys' "The Call." He is currently completing work on Janet Jackson's next music video. AUDIOBANKS IS "SURROUNDED" BY THE BEAUTY OF ATLANTISAudioBanks, an independent audio post house, recently completed a 5.1 surround sound project entitled "Atlantis" via advertising agency Ground Zero. The theatrically-released commercial for the beautiful Atlantis resort in the Bahamas was mixed by AudioBanks' Mark Meyuhas, who joined the company last year and who brings a wealth of experience with surround sound to this striking project. For Meyuhas, the most unique aspect of the project was that the surround sound mix was executed using software, rather than the hardware-based mixes the engineer had created in the past. Using Smartpan Pro and Real Verb 5.1, Meyuhas was able to exact the mix to perfection. This introduction to ProTools plug-ins was exciting for the noted Mixer, who has engineered numerous 5.1 projects including "Loved" with Sean Penn and Robin Wright, Slamdance winner "Six String Samurai," and Columbia TriStar animated series "Channel Umptee 3." PANDEMONIUM'S RICHARD KIZU-BLAIR EXHIBITS CREATIVE VERSATILITY FOR HONDAAd agency Rubin Postaer & Associates and client American Honda Motor Company once again called on the talents of Pandemonium Director Richard Kizu-Blair to create compelling spots for the Honda Accord. The two commercials, "Hello" and "Breathing," successfully emphasize the attributes of the Honda Accord through simple imagery and elegant camera moves. The two spots are dramatically different from each other. "Hello" required a myriad of CGI and effects, while "Breathing" only required a beautiful field of flowers in New Zealand. Both were narrated by Academy Award©-winning actor Richard Dreyfus. "Both spots are simple looking, but have distinctly different qualities in the way we produced them," comments Director Richard Kizu-Blair. "'Hello' was more technically challenging. We worked very closely with Radium to create the cgi. We knew we could get any look we wanted in cgi because it allows a lot of flexibility in terms of creating a move and cgi artist Mark Malmberg is outstanding. Inferno Artist Danielle composited the images together and really applied her skills to making our motion control move match the live-action move." |
