Possible Films Collection

The Possible Films Collection, a new distribution company founded by filmmaker Hal Hartley and his long-time editor Steve Hamilton, is focused on limited theatrical distribution of films "sufficiently outside the mainstream" followed by DVD home video sales from the Possible Films Collection web site and affiliated independent video outlets.

Possible Films Collection made its first theatrical release of Director Richard Sylvarnes' "The Cloud of Unknowing" at the Pioneer Theater in New York last fall. November 2004 saw the release of "Possible Films-Short Works by Hal Hartley 1994-2004."

The company is currently in the midst of unveiling Hal Hartley's newest feature film, "The Girl From Monday," which made its debut at Sundance 2005 and was then screened at MoMA as part of their premiere series. The film had a theatrical release in cities across the U.S. this spring and will be distributed on DVD this summer.

The company is also distributing the CD "Possible Music From the Films (ETC) Of Hal Hartley." Possible Films continues to represent the worldwide rights to certain of Hartley's past features, including "Flirt" (1995), "Henry Fool" (1997), and the short films "Ambition" (1991) and "Theory of Achievement" (1991).
